What We're Looking For & What You Can Expect

Requirements

  • Current SLPA license or SLP license (or willingness to obtain California licensure)

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) for SLP applicants

  • Experience working with children in educational, therapy, and intervention settings

  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively within a team

  • Valid California Class-C Driver’s License in good standing

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Willingness to participate in mentorship and training opportunities for new clinicians

  • Spanish language skills are highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations and write reports

  • Participate in SSTs

  • Develop individualized goals and objectives, track progress, and address challenges

  • Collaborate as part of an IEP team for comprehensive case management

  • Deliver evidence-based therapy

  • Monitor student progress

  • Maintain accurate documentation and data collection for progress monitoring

  • Provide education to school staff, parents, and caregivers to enhance their understanding and involvement

  • Advocate for early intervention through education, training, and community awareness

  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling, recordkeeping, and material preparation

    We offer:

    • Regular check-ins and mentorship tailored to your experience level

    • Hands-on support for bilingual assessments, treatment planning, and parent/teacher communication

    • Guidance with IEPs, data collection, and school-site navigation

    • A strong team culture where questions are welcomed and growth is celebrated

  • Caseloads typically range from 40 to 55 students, depending on the school site and service model. We understand the realities of school-based work and advocate for manageable caseloads that allow you to provide meaningful, quality therapy.

    Whenever possible, we also advocate for SLPA support to help with service delivery and reduce workload, especially at high-need sites.

  • Yes! At Speech and Love Bilingual Therapy, we believe in lifelong learning. We offer CEU and material reimbursements and support attendance at state and specialty conferences. 

    You’ll have access to:

    • Employee Education up to $400 for CEU-related training and education.

    • Reimbursement up to $500 for educational resources and materials related to the job

    • Support to attend state and national conventions (e.g., CSHA, ASHA, Bilingual Initiatives Symposium)
